Day 2 update: dinner fiasco

Well, ok. I said I’d update what happened for dinner, so here goes.

First, I had a headache, so I took aspirin, so I ate two crackers to keep the aspirin from aggravating my stomach. The two crackers turned into six crackers, but I did manage to stop there. (ok, one slice of mozzarella made it in there too).

Then I decided I wanted something savory for dinner. I opted for soup. The plan was to include savory vegetables and no spices, so that essentially I  would be eating as a soup the same ingredients I would use in a juice.

Butter nut squash, pumpkin, spinach, onion, and garlic. Cooked. Blended. Nasty.

Totally un-eatable. gross.

So Plan B: The son and the husband had finished eating their make-shift dinner already (read “leftovers”) while I was concocting my witches brew, so they were good. I decided to just follow the plan like I said I would and make a juice.

So into the juicer went kale. 6-8 pieces of kale. Followed by cranberries, a pear, a lemon, grapes, and several strawberries. It was brown, but it tasted lovely. A little tart from the lemon, but it was good. Couldn’t tell you were drinking mostly kale, and that was the idea. 🙂 haha.

So dinner done. I’m not any lighter today than yesterday, but I did cheat with the crackers and soup.

Aspirin

The nausea is gone, I’m combating that nicely with herbal tea. The headaches are not as persistent, and seem to be treatable in full (as opposed to partially like Day 1) with regular headache medicine. Aspirin seemed to work better than tylenol for me, though for cold symptoms I’m still banking on Tylenol Multi-Symptom Cold, but more on cold remedies later.

I am actually full now, and intend to spend the rest of my evening coloring with Elliot, watching a movie (No snacking), and generally training my brain to want other things than food. This mental block is the hardest for me.

The original Reboot diet plan I was following said three days of juicing followed by a combination of eating clean and juicing. Read about the plan here. (click on “The Long Weekend).

I can’t decide if I should juice for 4 days to compensate for the cheating, or go ahead after tomorrow and push ahead with the juice/eating combo. I’m probably going to do the combo thing, since eating clean would be better than cheating. What do you think?

Also have plans to start the aerobics tomorrow. Maybe walking with the son if the weather is good.
